Facility Custodian

Job Summary

Our Facility Custodian plays an essential role in our overall operations. We expect this team player do whatever it takes for the health, safety and cleanliness of our environment. Day-to-day responsibilities may include recycle consolidation, trash/waste, restroom cleaning and restock, sweeping, mopping and any other task of ensuring operable standards.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee facility cleanliness; restrooms, breakrooms, commonly gathered areas as well as in and around machines for safety purposes. Understanding this role is as important as the officers.
  • Maintain overall support of facility operations; paint touch-ups, changing light bulbs, window cleaning, restroom restocking, moving heavy items around for reorganizing – a true versatile team player. Take pride in your work and a thoroughly clean work space.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and shipping/receiving on 5-S standards.
  • Maintain logs for accuracy and accountability; daily, weekly, monthly
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously while performing various other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have a positive attitude and willing to help whenever/wherever
  • Demonstrated ability to get along with all types of personalities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and good verbal communication
  • Forklift certified (preferred) or willing to become certified (required)
Physical Specifications
  • Standing for extended periods on hard surfaces
  • Physical stamina and upper body strength to lift heavy items, up to 75lbs (+), often in small confined spaces.
  • Continuous movement; reaching, pulling, lifting, bending, stooping, standing, moving
  • Visual abilities; close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
