Production Manager

Job Summary

Our experienced Production Manager will have extensive manufacturing background in CNC machining, working knowledge and experience on a variety of CNC machines and controls, cutting hard & soft metals, plastics, inspections and overall manufacturing knowledge. This intricate role is responsible for leading the relationship and team development across departments in support of all Burger & Brown, Inc.’s products and services.

Essential Functions
  • Work with production associates to organize the work for all shifts in accordance with company necessity to meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure production goals and deadlines are supported to meet customer requirements.
  • High level of involvement and problem solving, in managing all aspects of manufacturing expectations.
  • Availability to engage and interface with associates across multiple shifts to support 24-hour production schedules.
  • Monitor and make recommendations to improve efficiencies while maintaining quality.
  • Support and drive the success of Enterprise Resource Planning (Global Shop) system
  • Inspect work using gaging and inspection equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Meet personal, department and company performance objectives for productivity, quality, and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Follow guidelines for work scheduling and understand delivery objectives.
  • Communicate pertinent information well with associates and leadership.
  • High level of involvement and problem solving, in managing all aspects of manufacturing expectations.
Job Specifications
Educational/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or engineering preferred, <or>,
  • 5+ years’ experience in the manufacturing and/or production industry(ies)
  • 5+ years as a lead, supervisor, manager or other leadership role(s)
Communication Skills Requirements
  • Exemplary customer service, responsiveness and outstanding relationship building
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of associates, suppliers and customers
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Ability to lead/mentor, discipline if necessary, and further develop manufacturing associates
Computer/Technical Skills Requirements
  • Competence in the operation and performance of multiple machine tools: CNC Mills, Lathes, & multi-tasking up to 5 Axis +
  • Ability to perform advanced GD&T computations and apply them where necessary in the processing of hard & soft metals and plastics
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience
Problem Solving/Reasoning Ability Requirements
  • Ability to actively manage problem-solving activities with root cause analysis and other problem-solving tools & methodologies
  • Ability to apply logic to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or drawings/models form.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Physical Specifications:
  • Standing for extended periods on hard surfaces
  • Regular physical movement and exertion
  • Constant movement; up/down from sitting position and walking
