Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Summary

Our Quality Assurance Engineer will ensure that standardized quality systems and procedures are in place and being followed. Responsible for methods and processes necessary to assure products or services are delivered on time and in compliance to customer requirements. Promote positive and effective communication with internal departments to assure that all process steps are required, effective, efficient, and proactive. This role incorporates both inspector and engineering responsibilities in addition to providing coverage support for the Quality Manager.

Job Duties
  • Audit, monitor and measure products to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Control nonconforming products, initiate reports as required.
  • Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections.
  • Verify equipment and instruments used in manufacturing processes are calibrated; CMM, calipers, micrometers, depth gages, scale, height gage, etc.
  • Receive inspection requests from internal functions from various outside processes.
  • Maintain quantities and operation accountability on manufacturing control plans.
  • Review and evaluate Quality Documents.  Purge those that are redundant or obsolete.  Ensure that all documents are applicable to current standards & procedures and that they properly represent manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Mastery over quality control & problem-solving techniques, knowledge of key failure modes and forming processes, problem diagnosis and resolution, standards and tolerances for each process.
  • Monitors and updates Quality Documentation, procedures, customer specifications and various other documents/media that require change or revision control that are submitted by suppliers. 
  • Coordinate, monitor, log and report internal activities of the Quality Assurance department including non-conformances, analysis of cause and corrective action, vendor issues and schedules.  
  • Ensure that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with company procedures and meet quality standards in place.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure a positive team collaboration environment and customer experience, as their partner in precision.
Job Specifications
  • High school diploma or GED required, preferred vocational school or an apprenticeship
  • 5+ yrs. as Quality Assurance/ Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment
  • 4+ yrs. CMM Programming experience within PC-DMIS software preferred, but not required
  • Will be required to perform competency by presenting a portfolio of work and experience
  • Extensive knowledge in ERP software and the quality functions within
  • Must have a positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Communicate to various departments for consistency & accuracy
  • Ability to inspect, test and measure materials, products, installations or work for conformance to specifications
  • Extensive knowledge in ERP software and the quality functions within
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other material
  • Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, punctual and regular attendance
  • Available to work weekends and overtime

  • Ability to sit for long hours at a time
  • Ability to stand and walk spontaneously throughout the day
  • Standing on concrete surfaces for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, infrequently
  • Ability to physically go up and down stairs frequently
