Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary

Our experienced Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the management and direction of the Quality Assurance Department. The Quality Assurance Manager will establish and maintain quality assurance programs for both in-house and vendor supplied products based on requirements provided in drawings, product literature and documentation. This leadership role maintains quality policies that are customer focused and in line with company’s goals, values, and policies.

Essential Functions
  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality and communicate results, provide feedback, and interpretation to manufacturing associates and management.
  • Monitor performance and quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Carry out and document mechanical, dimensional and visual inspections of small machined parts to ensure compliance with applicable drawings, inspection documents and/or contractual requirements by using equipment such as calipers, drop indicators, micrometers, various gauges, comparators, etc.
  • Create, organize and maintain CMM database including programs, inspection reports and job setups.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
  • Produce and distribute reports regarding nonconformance of products, daily production when needed, and quality trends. This includes ISO 9001, ITAR, and all compliance.
  • Manage and maintain calibration system/processes for test equipment. To include MSA studies as needed.
Job Specifications
  • High school diploma or GED required, preferred vocational school or an apprenticeship
  • 5+ yrs. as Quality Assurance/ Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment
  • 4+ yrs. CMM Programming experience within PC-DMIS software preferred, but not required
  • Will be required to perform competency by presenting a portfolio of work and experience
  • Extensive knowledge in ERP software and the quality functions within
  • Must have a positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Communicate to various departments for consistency & accuracy
  • Ability to inspect, test and measure materials, products, installations or work for conformance to specifications
  • Extensive knowledge in ERP software and the quality functions within
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other material
  • Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, punctual and regular attendance
  • Available to work weekends and overtime

  • Prolonged periods of standing on hard, concrete surfaces
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Visual abilities; close/distant, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
